The hourly cost of tuition is £24. For those eligible for a discount the lesson cost is £22. Discounts are available for students, those not in full time employment or by paying for a block of 10 or more lessons in advance.

The DSA recommend that you receive at least 40 hours of professional tuition, with additional private practice, when learning from scratch.

However, analysis of a recent DSA survey has shown that the amount of professional tuition taken before passing the driving test can be anything between 25-75 hours. For those who already have some driving experience, the lesson time will vary.

Occasionally, it may be beneficial for those needing driving lessons to gain private practice with a close friend or relative. It is important that you seek advice from a driving professional before undertaking private practice.
